Frost or ice crystals forming on frozen food in the freezer is caused by moisture in the freezer compartment freezing. This is often caused by frequent or extended door openings, and most often occurs on items toward the front of the freezer nearest the door.
To minimize frost or ice crystals, change your freezer to a warmer setting. You can also move food toward the rear of the compartment.
