Indoor mini-split ductless units are controlled by a wireless remote control or wired thermostat (on some models). The operating temperature range is 60°F-86°F.

 

Controls and Accessories

Operating modes on Haier Ductless (Split Air) Air Conditioners:

Cool Mode

 

  • In COOL mode, the unit operates to cool the room. 
  • If the fan is set to AUTO during COOL mode, the air conditioner automatically adjusts the fan speed according to room temperature.
  • The COOL icon will be displayed on the remote during COOL mode.
  • The remote displays a Snowflake symbol at the top. 


Heat Mode

 

  • In HEAT mode, the unit operates to heat the room. 
  • In HEAT mode, warm air not blow out immediately. Warm air will blow out after a short period of the time due to cold-air prevention function.
  • When fan is set to AUTO, the air conditioner automatically adjusts the fan speed according to room temperature. The HEAT icon will be displayed during HEAT mode.
  • The remote displays a Sun symbol at the top.


Fan Operation

 

  • The fan can be operated in combination with the COOL or HEAT mode, or alone as just the fan mode.
  • The air conditioner fan will run according to the displayed fan speed selected.
  • When FAN is set to AUTO, the air conditioner automatically adjusts the fan speed according to room temperature.
  • The FAN icon will be displayed on the remote.
  • Press the FAN button once for Low, twice for Medium, three times for High, and 4 times for AUTO. The fan speed will appear on the display each time it is pressed.
  • The remote displays a Fan symbol (circle with fan blades inside it) at the top.  


Auto Mode

 

  • In AUTO Mode, the air conditioner will automatically select Cool, Heat, or Fan operation according to the set temperature. When FAN is set to AUTO, the air conditioner automatically adjusts the fan speed according to room temperature.
  • The AUTO icon will be displayed during AUTO mode.
  • Press the FAN button until AUTO is displayed.
  • There is a minimum 15 minute operating time between mode changes.

 


Turbo Mode

 

  • Briefly speeds up fan to maximum setting to heat or cool in half the time.
  • Can only be used in cooling or heating mode. Cannot be used in Auto or Fan mode.
  • Press the TURBO/QUIET button once on the remote. The Turbo icon will appear on the right side of the remote display.

 


Warm Start Mode

 

  • The fan won't blow cold air at the start of the heating phase.

 


Quiet Mode

 

  • Reduces the sound produced by the indoor unit (about (22dB).
  • Can only be used in cooling or heating mode. Cannot be used in Auto or Fan mode.
  • Press the TURBO/QUIET button twice to switch to QUIET mode. The remote control will display the QUIET icon on the bottom left side of the remote display.
  • Running the unit in QUIET mode for a long period of time may cause the room temperature to not reach the set temperature. If this occurs, cancel QUIET mode and set the fan speed to a higher setting.


Dry/Dehumidify Mode

 

  • DRY mode is used to reduce humidity; however, it does not monitor humidity levels.
  • In DRY mode, when room temperature becomes lower than temp. setting +2°F, the unit will run intermittently at LOW speed regardless of the fan setting. The Dry icon will be displayed during DRY mode.
  • If the outdoor fan is stopped, the indoor fan will pause for 3 minutes. If the outdoor fan is stopped for more than 3 minutes, and the compressor is still operating, the system will change to light speed mode.
  • The remote displays a Rain Drop symbol at the top.


Sleep Mode

 

  • Adjust bedroom temperature throughout the sleep cycle, making sure it’s never too hot or too cold, all while saving significant energy.
  • Can be used in COOL or HEAT Mode. Cannot be used at the same time as the TIMER. Using the Timer will cancel the SLEEP mode.

Timer ON and Timer OFF

 

  • The TIMER can be set to turn the unit on and/or off after a certain amount of time.
  • TIMER can be set for .5 hrs up to 24 hours.
  • Depending on how the TIMER ON and OFF is set, either Start-Stop or Stop-Start can be achieved.

Louver Swing (Air Flow Direction Adjustment)

 

  • Press SWING/UP to change the position of the vertical louvers up or down.
  • Press SWING/DOWN to change the position of the horizontal louvers side to side.
  • When turning the unit on, the remote control will automatically return the louver to the previous set swing position. When turning the unit off, the louver will rotate to the full open position prior to closing.
  • It is advisable not to keep the vertical louver in the downward position for an extended period of time in COOL or DRY mode, otherwise condensate water may form on the louver.
  • When humidity levels are high, condensate water may occur at the air outlet if all horizontal louvers are adjusted to left or right.
