We are partnering with wireless home speaker system Sonos to more fully integrate your suite of smart appliances into the overall smart home experience. With most Sonos devices, you can receive helpful appliance notifications through your Sonos speakers throughout your home; like getting an alert letting you know your oven is preheated. 
 

Using the two together allows you greater awareness of what is happening throughout your house without needing to walk up and check each appliance; giving you added convenience, peace of mind and enhanced performance from your appliances.
 

Compatibility

  • Connected Appliances: Sonos systems can be paired with compatible GE Appliances connected appliances through our smart home platform and the SmartHQ™ app. Appliances compatible with Sonos include include dishwashers, wall ovens, refrigerators, ranges, cooktops, microwaves, as well as the 5-in-1 oven with Advantium technology, and Monogram hearth oven. The integration will eventually be available in our full appliances portfolio, including laundry products. 

  • Sonos: Products that can be used with our connected appliances are: Arc, Beam, One, One SL, Five, Move, Symfonisk (IKEA), Amp, Port, Playbar, Playbase, Play:1, Play:3, Play:5, Connect:Amp (Gen 2), and Connect (Gen 2). 

 

Setting Up the Sonos Integration

  1. In the SmartHQ app go to: Extras, then Convenience, and then Sonos.

  2. Follow the SmartHQ app instructions for Set Up Notification
