As the unit runs, it collects water. There is a slinger ring that picks up the water and flings it on the hot condenser so it can evaporate. If there is excess water (like in dehumidify mode), you can connect a garden hose to one of the drain ports on the back.

  • Portable air conditioners with a single drain plug fitting is used to drain collected water. This connection is threaded to allow connection to a garden hose fitting.
  • Models with Dehumidification Mode have two drains. The upper drain plug is provided to allow automatic draining when there is a full tank, like in Dehumidification Mode or Cooling Mode in high humidity areas.  This connection is threaded to allow connection to a garden hose fitting. The lower fitting is typically used for Cooling or Heating Mode or for draining the tank for storage.

You can leave the hoses connected for continuous draining.
