Occasionally there may be power interruptions due to thunderstorms or other causes. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet when a power outage occurs. When power has been restored, plug the unit back into the wall outlet.
If the outage is for a prolonged period, inspect and discard spoiled or thawed food in the freezer. Clean the freezer before reusing.
