Haier dehumidifiers have a leakage current detection interrupter device (LCDI), also referred to as a GFI/GFCI plug. If a problem occurs with the unit or with the electrical supply, the Reset button on the plug may pop out (trip). This will cause the unit to stop running.

If the Reset button pops out:

  • Unplug the unit from the wall, press the Reset button on the power plug, and plug back in.

  • Check how well the plug fits into the outlet. If the plug is not tight in the outlet, it may not make a good connection. If the outlet is not working or the plug is loose in the outlet, we recommend having an electrician check the outlet.

  • The dehumidifier should be on a dedicated circuit. If there are other products on the same circuit, they could cause the GFI to trip.

If the plug is too hot or overheating:

  • Check how well the plug fits into the outlet. If the plug is loose in the outlet, it may not make a good connection and can cause arcing or overheating of the plug. If the plug is very hot or there is soot around the outlet, unplug the unit and have an electrician check the outlet.

Most issues are electrical, and not an issue with the dehumidifier. If you have checked the outlet and the unit is on a dedicated circuit, please contact service.
